Our advocacy drop-in is on every Wednesday 10am - 12pm at One Community Centre, Cromwell St LS9 7SG.

We can assist with:

  • understanding letters
  • finding information or services
  • addressing bills
  • school concerns
  • housing

Unfortunately, we cannot provide any legal advice but could refer you to other services for legal advice.

General Financial Support

Our Money Buddies drop-in session is Mondays 9-12pm at One Community Centre, Cromwell St LS9 7SG.

Money Buddies can assist with:

  • budgeting
  • overdue bills
  • overdue rent or mortgage
  • grants for electricity or gas
  • advice on ways to save money
  • finding the best value service providers

Welfare and Benefit Support

LRF can arrange an appointment for you to see someone from the Job Centre at the One Community Centre.

This service can provide assistance with:

  • Job Centre related complications or concerns
  • Child benefit
  • Childcare costs
  • Benefit claims or changes to benefits
  • Council Tax support
  • Tax credits

If speaking or understanding English is difficult, we encourage you to arrange for a friend/family member to come with you to assist or give us a call and we can try to find a translator to help.

Hardship Fund

The Hardship Fund provides limited financial support in the winter months to asylum seekers with no income at all.

This is a service provided by referral only. Referrals can come from:

  • British Red Cross
  • Meeting Point
  • Solace
  • York St Health Practice

LRF provides this service in partnership with Leeds Asylum Seeker's Support Network (LASSN); British Red Cross; Leeds City of Sanctuary; Meeting Point; Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers (PAFRAS); Refugee Education Training Advice Service (RETAS); Solace; and York Street Health Practice.
