Wellbeing Activities:
Women’s only ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) classes
LRF hosts a woman’s only English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) class. These classes cover topics like the health system, transport, use of local libraries and different types of supermarkets. This ensures that in addition to learning English, women learn about cultural differences in the UK. This aids community integration. Our women’s only class also welcomes women with children as we provide childcare in the class. This ensures that childcare barriers faced by mothers are minimised.
Can come to an environment where they feel safe, can know their child will be cared for, and where they can learn English to aid them in life in the UK.
Women’s only wellbeing group
LRF offers a bi-weekly women’s wellbeing group that runs for two hours on Thursdays and Fridays. It provides informal education in the first half such as teaching the women English vocabulary about the chosen activity, whether this be sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, and the second hour lets the women put this into practice.
Please note that this group requires registration before attendance. There is also a class capacity of 20 students; to ensure that this capacity is not exceeded, there is weekly sign up process managed by Ranya.
